In Taming of the Shrew, it shows that deception can be set out for the good. Pertrucio and Lucentio have their friends dress up as school masters in order to be with they one they love. While The Family That Preys shows that it can be for the worst and heart break of another.
In both "Shrew" and "Preys" they all have the same motive, deception but the reasons for the deception are different as stated before. Deception can come in all forms but it's all about the motive and the unknown outcome.

In this quote, Lucentio has Trantio act as tho he is him so he can win Biancia's love by negotiating with Bpatista. While this is going on Lucentio acts as a school master and talks with Bianca secretly because of the rules of the time period and also with a false identity.
In this scene Andrea and William are about to sneak in a kiss at the Prestige building party before going back to the ones they made commitments too. In the movie, A wife to one and a husband to another decieve everyone. Andrea is in love with William because he can financially support her in a way that her husband Chris could not.
"I'm tired of being the one who has to support this family"- Andrea. Their are many times in the movie where she blamed her husband Chris about him not being like William and how he "could never be Cartwright." So she confined in William for her money hungry needs.

This quote is when Trantio makes plans for Lucentio to dress up as a school master in order for him to become closer to Bianca. This is all done so Bianca's father cannot find him and she will have to marry him.
This is when Charlotte Cartwright, Williams mother has a meeting with Abigail "Abby" Dexter to make her the new COO of the construction company that she is owner of.
Another sign of deception is when William signs a $25 million dollar deal without his mothers consent. Abby tells him that if they were to follow through it would hurt the company financially. He asks his mother if she trust him and she says "It's not you I don't trust darlin'. It's you private thoughts that give me pause. My family has been known to pray on the weak."
All three of the couples find ways to deceive to get what they want. Whether it's turning on a close relative or someone you barley know yet. They all were persistent which is the key in deception, to do whatever it takes for someone to believe you. It's all about seeing the prize, aiming for it and going in to win it.
